Getting to know your newborn/baby care

Course is designed to be a 6 hour class over the span of two weekend days. Space for 5 couples in 3rd trimester.  Price $250.

Coming home with a new baby can feel overwhelming for moms and dads! This class is intended to give practical information and hands-on skills for parents who are preparing to care for their new baby.  Through this course, parents will learn about newborn behavior and gain practice in care-taking techniques to help you parent with enjoyment and confidence. This class will cover basics such as feeding, sleeping, dressing, and bathing; as well as offering the opportunity to experiment with gear and techniques (diapering, babywearing, swaddling, infant massage) and will give you tips for soothing, bonding and communicating with your baby. Result!!! What you will come away with. Class taught by Kate Klein, a Brooklyn post-partum doula, former midwife’s assistant and mother of two. Preparing for your postpartum

Course intended to be a 4 hour one day class. Space for 6 mamas (or couples) in their 3rd trimester. Price $150.

Postpartum is an intimate, intense and vulnerable time in your family's life; it can often feel overwhelming and surprising.  Many times families cannot anticipate the kind of physical and emotional support that they will want.   In this class we will talk about setting up your expectations for your postpartum experience, practical tips to prepare your home for your new baby,  what to expect from your postpartum body, how to nourish and nurture yourself in this transition, how to honor your new role as a mother, finding your “village”, and postpartum challenges. The goal of this course is to help prepare you for what happens after the baby is born and give you tools to sink into this special time.
